CBS orders Martin Lawrence laffer

Mike Lisbe and Nate Reger penned CBS TV Studios multicam vehicle

CBS has found its Martin Lawrence vehicle, greenlighting a multicam comedy pilot featuring the comic as a widowed father.

Project from CBS TV Studios was penned by Mike Lisbe and Nate Reger who will exec produce with Michael Green and Sam Maydew of the Collective.

CBS had two other writers working on separate projects for Lawrence (Tom Hertz and Larry Wilmore) but the Lisbe-Reger concept was the one that clicked with CBS and Lawrence’s camp.

He’ll play the widowed father of two teenagers who decided to become a cop after losing his job as a construction worker.
