CBS Corp. will be feted as the Banff World Media Festival’s first Company of Distinction, fest execs announced Wednesday.
As Company of Distinction, CBS execs, producers and talent will participate in various facets of the four-day fest, including keynotes, media leaders sessions, the Rockies Award Gala and Banff’s master classes.
“This collaboration between CBS and Banff represents a powerful synergy, combining a world-leading content company with the production and development marketplace that defines an industry,” said Barbara Williams, Shaw Media’s senior content VP and chair of the Banff Foundation board of directors.
The new honor allows the fest to fete a company demonstrating significant leadership in entertainment. CBS Corp. is one of the world’s top content companies with programming divisions including CBS Television Network, CBS Television Studios, Showtime, CBS Television Distribution and CBS Studios Intl..
“CBS’ remarkable success and diversity makes it most deserving of this prestigious designation,” said Ferne Cohen, fest exec director.
Fest takes place June 9-12 at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, Canada.
