BSkyB nabs ‘Awake’

Jason Isaacs starrer to play on Sky Atlantic

LONDON — Paybox BSkyB has nabbed exclusive U.K. rights to 20th Century Fox TV Distribution’s high-concept skein “Awake” for its Sky Atlantic web.

Show stars Jason Isaacs (“Harry Potter,” “Case Histories”) as a detective who finds himself caught between two realities following a car crash.

In one version of events, the character played by Isaacs, detective Michael Britten, is widowed but his son has survived. In the other, his son is dead but his wife remains alive.

Though traumatised by his situation, Britten finds that living in two parallel worlds enables him to solve crimes that would otherwise be impossible to crack.

“Awake” is produced by 20th Century Fox and is exec produced by Kyle Killen (“Lone Star”), Jeffrey Reiner (“Friday Night Lights”) and Howard Gordon (“Homeland” and “24”).

Show will air on Sky Atlantic, whose flagship series include “Mad Men” and “Game of Thrones,” this spring.

“Awake” recently bowed favorably on NBC in the U.S.
