Bounce TV launches original ‘Family Time’

Sitcom stars Omar Gooding, Angell Conwell

Bounce TV will launch the half-hour laffer “Family Time,” produced by Bentley Kyle Evans and Trenten Gumbs, as its first-ever original series, the network announced Monday. Created by Evans, skein is set to premiere on the African American-focused network on June 18.

Show will air regularly Monday nights at 8 p.m. Skein will center on the Stallworths, a working class family bumped to the middle class by a winning lottery ticket. Omar Gooding and Angell Conwell will star as parents Anthony and Lisa, and Jayla Calhoun and Bentley Kyle Evans, Jr. will play the children Ebony and Devin.

Evans and Gumb also produce TV One’s “Love That Girl” Evans’ other credits include Fox’s “Martin” and WB’s “The Jamie Foxx Show.”

“‘Family Time’ is the perfect way to launch Bounce TV’s originals,” said COO Jonathan Katz. “(Evans and Gumb have) developed an irreverent sitcom in ‘Family Time’ that addresses contemporary issues in a way that all parents can relate.”

Launched in 2011, Bounce TV is available in 75 percent of African American households and 60 million homes nationally, according to the network. Channel targets auds ages 25 to 54 with a mix of pics, sports, docus and other programming.
