‘Be the Boss’ set for A&E

'Undercover Boss' creators offer new reality skein

A&E has skedded its latest workplace reality skein, “Be the Boss,” for a Dec. 2 bow.

Series hails from Studio Lambert, creators of CBS’ “Undercover Boss” (Daily Variety, Feb. 15). “Be the Boss” centers on two employees battling for a chance to own the franchise business they work for. Companies featured in season one of the skein include Auntie Anne’s, the Melting Pot and Complete Nutrition.

“Be the Boss” marks the A&E’s first foray in the reality-competition arena. The cabler has been on a roll with its unscripted docu-series including “Duck Dynasty,” “Storage Wars” and “Storage Wars: Texas.”

“Be the Boss” will air in the 10 p.m. slot. Stephen Lambert, Eli Holzman, Aaron Saidman, Brien Meagher and Phil Lott exec produce for Studio Lambert; Elaine Frontain Bryant, Drew Tappon, Nicole Reed and Tom Moody exec produce for A&E.
