BBC America to air Olympics mockumentary

'Twenty Twelve' features Bonneville, Colman

BBC America will air a mockumentary series depicting preparations for this year’s Olympic Games in London and starring Hugh Bonneville (“Downton Abbey”).

“Twenty Twelve,” which will feature Bonneville, Olivia Colman (“Tyrannosaur”), Amelia Bullmore, Vincent Franklin, Jessica Hynes and Karl Theobald, will have 12 halfhour episodes on BBC America beginning June 30. David Tennant (“Doctor Who”) is the narrator.

Longtime British comedy producer Jon Plowman has exec produced the series, which premiered on BBC Four in the U.K. in 2011, with a second series of episodes airing on BBC Two beginning in March. John Morton wrote and directed. BBC Worldwide is distributing.

Bonneville plays the head of deliverance for the Olympic Deliverance Commission.
