Animal Planet has named Charlie Foley senior veep of development, reporting to president and g.m. Marjorie Kaplan.

The pair then jointly announced the hiring of Kurt Tondorf and Andy Berg as vice presidents of development, reporting to Foley.

Foley has been with Animal Planet since 2007 and developed the network’s top-performing series, ”River Monsters,” as well as Emmy-nominated ”Whale Wars.”

Tondorf has 15 years of production and development experience and was most recently development veep at Optomen Prods., working with Animal Planet, History and other cablers.

Berg spent seven years at AandE/Bio where he was senior director of non-fiction and alternative programming, with a hand in series including ”Hoarders” and ”Flip This House.”
