AMC, Verizon in new carriage pact

Current deal ends Dec. 31

AMC Networks said Tuesday that it’s inked a new long-term carriage deal with Verizon to carry AMC, IFC, Sundance Channel and We TV on the telco’s FiOS service.

The current contract expires Dec. 31, and negotiations had grown testy. FiOS has about 4.5 million subscribers.

“We’re pleased to continue our successful partnership with Verizon FiOS through a new, long-term agreement for AMC, IFC, Sundance Channel and We TV that recognizes the value of our networks,” AMC said in a statement. “We look forward to continuing to provide Verizon FiOS customers with some of the most-watched, popular and acclaimed programming on television.”

AMC has had huge success with “The Walking Dead” again this season. AMC renewed long-term deals with Dish and AT&T in recent months.
