Adult Swim has ‘Harold and Kumar’ in works

Pilots to be unveiled include project from Dan Harmon

Adult Swim is set announce a handful of new pilots at its Gotham upfront on Wednesday, including a project from “Community” creator Dan Harmon and a toon take on a popular slacker film.

Harmon and Justin Roiland are behind half-hour “Rick and Morty,” about a genius grandfather and his less-than-genius grandson.

Lionsgate is the producer of an untitled “Harold and Kumar” project currently in development. The original popular bigscreen comedy has been turned into an indie pic franchise.

Though the net has long been predicated on toon fare, Adult Swim is ordering two live-action pilots. In “Freestyle Love Supreme,” I.T. employees work on their freestyle rapping at the office, much to the annoyance of their co-workers; “Green Bench: The American Day Dream” centers on a group of friends who have pooled their money to buy a large office space for their business, except they haven’t quite figured out what that business is.

Besides “Rick and Morty,” the Turner cabler has two other half-hour projects being prepped for pilots: “Coffin Dodgers,” in which a group of misfits gets into a trouble at a suburban retirement home, and “Rolling With Dad,” about a brilliant but disabled man who deals with his much-less intelligent family. “Dodgers” is from Dave Silverstein and Matt Jeser, while “Dad” is from Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg.

The two 15-minute pilots ordered were “Colonel Wallace,” which looks at an eccentric Southern fried chicken magnate, and “King Star King.”
