UTA has upped book department co-head Kassie Evashevski to partner status.
Evashevski runs the percentery’s book department with longtime UTA partner Howard Sanders. The duo rep film, TV and digital rights for authors and journos as well as their publishing agents. Evashevski’s clients include such authors as Stephenie Meyer, Wally Lamb, Elizabeth Gilbert, Salman Rushdie, Christopher Paolini, Jonathan Tropper, Dave Pilkiy and John Hodgman.
“Kassie is an exceptional agent whose taste and intelligence in representing authors and artists have helped to make our books and rights practice second to none,” said David Kramer, managing director and head of UTA’s motion picture lit. “Her partner promotion reflects her invaluable contributions to the agency over the years and the important role she will continue to play in our success.”
Evashevski has been with UTA since 2007, joining the agency from Brillstein Entertainment Partners where she had been a manager for 10 years. Prior to Brillstein, Evashevski worked at the Writer’s House literary agency in Gotham and she also served a stint at Random House.
