Fox skein “Touch” tapped into its theme of global interconnectedness Sunday night at the global premiere of the show at New York’s American Museum of Natural History: The screening was followed by a Q&A with people all over the world using social media to ask their questions.

“I think there is a real chance for this to resonate with people,” said 20th Century Fox Television chairman Gary Newman at the afterparty.

The show’s pilot previewed in January as a sort of sneak peek, and the second episode airs Thursday. Creator and writer Tim Kring said the pattern follows that of net fellow “Glee.”

There are many ways to write storylines with interconnected characters, he said, but it really comes down to something much simpler.

“You get 10 really smart people in a writers room for 10,000 hours, and you just bang your head against the wall with each other.”
