Leftfield Pictures has upped David George to exec veep of programming and Chris Valentini to chief operating officer. Both will continue to report to Brent Montgomery, owner of the reality shingle responsible for shows including “Pawn Stars.”
George logged 12 years at MTV, where he served as exec producer of “Total Request Live” before transitioning to Leftfield in 2010. In his new post, he will continue as exec producer on the shingle’s unscripted skeins including History’s “Counting Cars,” Science’s “Oddities” franchise and upcoming programs such as “Guntucky” for CMT and “Celebrity Yard Sale” for Lifetime.
Valentini also joined Leftfield in 2010 and served as general manager before his promotion. He previously worked as an exec producer at Nat Geo, overseeing shows including “Border Wars” and “Taboo.” He has also served as veep of production at Hoff Prods. and Tremendous Entertainment.
Montgomery offered praise for the pair: “David George has been the creative force behind key Leftfield series like ‘Counting Cars’ and ‘Cajun Pawn Stars’ for History, the ‘Oddities’ franchise for Science, ‘Ball Boys’ for ABC…At the same time, Chris Valentini has taken the reigns of Leftfield’s operations and business development, which has significantly impacted our growth, and he remains instrumental to the company’s domestic and international evolution.”
