‘Client’ confessions

Lifetime show hosts launch party at Sunset Tower

Cocktail waiters with dirty martinis perched precariously above their heads slithered gingerly through a congested crowd at the Sunset Tower cabana Wednesday for the launch party of Lifetime’s sexy drama “The Client List.”

Though Jennifer Love Hewitt said she never had a job she didn’t like, the series star recalled an unpleasant experience while trying her hand as a masseuse, the ostensible career of her on-screen character.

“I had to massage a couple of really hairy people one time,” Hewitt said. “It was interesting. I had never done that before.”

Regarding her current thesp gig, she said the work experience allows her to give something extra. “I just try to make sure the clients that come on the show actually get some sort of small massage while we are filming our scene to keep them happy,” she said.

On-screen mom Cybill Shepherd did give some insight into a period when her career was less discreet, and certainly less lucrative. “I didn’t make any money on my first film, ‘The Last Picture Show,'” she said. “I didn’t make any money but I did do a nude scene.”
