Roger Waters, John Mayer join Heroes benefit

Nov. 8 concert to support wounded veterans available as live stream

John Mayer and Roger Waters will perform at the 6th Annual Stand Up For Heroes benefit on Nov. 8.

Stand Up For Heroes raises funds for the Bob Woodruff Foundation and vets in need. Mayer and Waters join a lineup that includes Mike Birbiglia, Ricky Gervais, Patton Oswalt, Jon Stewart, Bruce Springsteen and Robin Williams.

The musical performances will be made available as a live video stream via Remind.org and Vetnethq.com, which will also encourage viewers to donate to the Woodruff Foundation.

“We are amazed at the caliber of talent we are able to pull in for the benefit,” Woodruff said. “We hope that the social media component, new this year, will enable more people to enjoy the show — and will raise even more awareness for the cause that lies behind it.”

Stand Up For Heroes kicks off at 8 p.m. ET at Gotham’s Beacon Theater. The past five benefits have raised more than $10 million in total.

The Stand Up for Heroes benefit is part of next week’s New York Comedy Festival.
