Cameron Pace Group founders James Cameron and Vincent Pace will receive the 3D Visionary Award on Sept. 20 at the 3D Entertainment Summit in Los Angeles, produced by Unicomm and the Bob Dowling Group in association with Variety.
Cameron and Pace will be feted for their work on revolutionary 3D technology and production processes as seen in such pics as “Avatar” and “Hugo” and numerous TV broadcasts including ESPN’s X Games and the U.S. Open tennis tourney. Pace will be on hand at the summit to receive the kudo following a Q&A with Variety’s David S. Cohen. Cameron will accept via a pre-recorded interview that will be lensed in 3D.
The summit is set for Sept. 19-20 at the Hollywood and Highland Center. Other highlights of the confab include the presentation of footage from Sony Pictures Animation’s “Hotel Transylvania.”
