Producers of the new Chazz Palminteri play “Human” aim to bring the show to Broadway as part of the 2013-14 season.

The play, about an explosive encounter between two very different men on a Central Park bench, had previously been said to be a possibility for later this season.

Exact details for the full production have yet to be set, but an upcoming reading will feature Palminteri, Mira Sorvino, Jeremy Shamos (“Clybourne Park”), Sophie Monk and Evan Jonigkeit (“High”). Jerry Zaks (“Sister Act”) helms.

Project reteams Palminteri and Zaks following their collaboration on the 2007 Rialto production of “Bronx Tale,” the solo show written and performed by Palminteri and based loosely on his childhood.

Should the current cast remained attached to the title, “Human” would rep the Broadway debut for Sorvino.

Scott and Brian Zeilinger, who have been on the producing teams of shows including “Death of a Salesman” and “Catch Me if You Can,” produce. The industry reading is set for Sept. 7 in Gotham, with further production plans still to be locked in.
