Jon Bernthal (“The Walking Dead”) and thesp-scribe John Pollono will bring the play “Small Engine Repair” to New York in an Off Broadway run skedded as part of the 2012-13 season at MCC Theater.

Pollono work world preemed last year in an L.A. production that also starred Bernthal and Pollono. Gotham staging will be helmed by Jo Bonney (“The Break of Noon,” “Fat Pig”). Andrew Block directed the earlier incarnation.

Storyline centers on three friends driven to hole up in a car repair shop and the preppy college kid who wanders into their midst. No other casting for the MCC production has been announced; Michael Redfield and Josh Helman filled out the cast in L.A., where the show was produced by Rogue Machine Theater.

“Small Engine Repair” will be the final offering of MCC’s 2012-13 slate. Also on the bill are Stephen Belber’s “Don’t Go Gentle,” helmed by Lucie Tiberghien, and a David Cromer-directed production of Paul Downs Colaizzo’s “Really Really,” which had a well-received run last season at the Signature Theater in Washington, D.C.

“Small Engine Repair” runs May 16-June 23, 2013.

On the film side, Bernthal has also signed on to join the cast of Martin Scorsese’s “The Wolf of Wall Street,” starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
