WWE Studios will co-finance and co-produce Halle Berry thriller “The Hive” with Troika Pictures.

Abigail Breslin co-stars in the pic that starts lensing July 6 in Los Angeles, with Brad Anderson (“The Machinist”) at the helm. Rich D’Ovidio (“Exit Wounds”) penned the script, based on a story by Rich D’Ovidio, Nicole D’Ovidio and Jon Bokencamp.

In the film, an emergency call center operator takes a call from a teenage girl who has been kidnapped.

Sony Pictures will distribute the film.

Troika’s Michael Helfant, Robert Stein and Bradley Gallo, WWE Studios’ Michael Luisi and Jeff Graup are producing. William Gallo, Philip M. Cohen and Chip Rosenbloom are exec producers.

“‘The Hive’ is an ideal addition to WWE Studios’ slate of films given its strong award-winning cast and exciting story,” said WWE Studios president Michael Luisi. “We are looking forward to working with Brad Anderson and Troika Pictures on this picture.”

WWE will promote the film through its TV shows, digital media and print assets. Sierra Affinity is handling foreign pre-sales.

WWE Studios is currently producing “The Marine: Homefront,” a co-production with Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment; Colin Farrell thriller “Dead Man Down,” co-financed with IM Global and to be distribbed by FilmDistrict; horror pic “No One Lives,” with Pathe Films; and Toronto Film Festival pickup “The Day.”
