LONDON — Willem Dafoe and Udo Kier have joined the cast of Lars von Trier’s erotic drama “Nymphomaniac.”
This will be the third time Dafoe has worked with Von Trier, following roles in “Antichrist” and “Manderlay.” Kier has also worked with the helmer before, on “Medea,” “Europa,” “Breaking the Waves,” “The Kingdom,” “Dogville,” “Manderlay” and “Melancholia.”
Other additions to the cast include Jean-Marc Barr, Caroline Goodall, Kate Ashfield, Saskia Reeves, Sophie Kennedy Clark, Michael Pas and Omar Shargawi.
Move marks the completion of an ensemble cast of more than 60.
Other members of the cast, all announced previously, include Charlotte Gainsbourg, Stellan Skarsgard, Stacy Martin, Shia LaBeouf, Jamie Bell, Christian Slater and Uma Thurman.
The pic centers on a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac, played by Gainsbourg, as she recounts her erotic journey from birth to the age of 50.
