Willem Dafoe is set to round out the cast of Relativity Media’s dramatic thriller “Out of the Furnace.”

Scott Cooper is writing and directing the pic, which stars Christian Bale and Casey Affleck as brothers, with Affleck’s character lured into a violent crime ring when a cruel twist of fate lands Bale’s character in prison.

Dafoe will play a bookie to whom Affleck’s character owes a debt.

“Furnace” co-stars Zoe Saldana, Woody Harrelson, Sam Shepard and Forest Whitaker.

Appian Way’s Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Killoran are producing with Scott Free’s Ridley Scott, Tony Scott and Michael Costigan, as well as Relativity CEO Ryan Kavanaugh. Brooklyn Weaver of Energy Entertainment is exec producing.

Red Granite is handling international sales after acquiring foreign rights to “Furnace,” which will be shopped to buyers in Cannes next month. Production is already under way in Pennsylvania.

Dafoe, who recently co-starred in “John Carter,” toplines the Aussie pic “The Hunter.” He will next be seen in Stephen Sommers’ “Odd Thomas,” as well as David Jacobson’s “Tomorrow You’re Gone.”

Dafoe is repped by ICM and D/F Management.
