Universal Pictures has won a bidding war on an untitled threesome pitch from scribe Leah Rachel.
Bidding got competitive with Lionsgate also taking a run at the spec before Universal locked up the sale.
Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Chris Henchy and Kevin Messick will produce through his Gary Sanchez shingle.
Plot details are being kept under wraps.
Exec VP of production Erik Baiers will oversee the project for the studio while Kevin Messick will produce and oversee for Gary Sanchez.
Rachel has been very busy writing in both the film and TV worlds. The WME and Annoymous Content-repped scribe has “The Young, The Hot, and the Bothered” in development at Mandate Pictures with Dan Jinks producing. On the TV side she has recently set up two projects; “Starf*cker” at HBO with Stephen Levinson and Mark Wahlberg exec producing and “BAMFS” at ABC with Jamie Tarses and Julia Franz exec producing.
McKay is repped by WME and Ferrell is repped by CAA.
