Young thesp Mackenzie Foy, who plays Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson’s daughter in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn,” is set to star in the indie drama “Wish You Well” alongside Ellen Burstyn and Josh Lucas.
Darnell Martin (“Cadillac Records”) is directing the feature adaptation of the bestselling novel by David Baldacci, who wrote the script and is also producing.
A co-production between Life Out Loud Films, Copper Beech Prods. and the author’s Baldacci Entertainment banner, coming-of-age story is set in the 1940s and follows a young girl (Foy) and her brother who move from New York to a Virginia farm to live with their great-grandmother following a family tragedy. The change of scenery helps her understand what inspired her father’s writings while discovering herself, the love of family and the power of true belief.
Ned Bellamy (“Treme”), Laura Fraser (“Breaking Bad”), Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick (“Moonrise Kingdom”), Alano Miller and Virginia-born newcomer JP Vanderloo co-star in the pic, which is currently shooting in Giles County, Va.
“We are thrilled to have such a talented team – both on screen and off – bringing this story to life,” said Baldacci. “It’s exciting to see Darnell and our terrific cast transforming words on a page to the screen.”
Foy will next be seen in Renesmee in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2,” which Summit releases on Nov. 16. Up-and-coming thesp has also wrapped director James Wan’s supernatural New Line pic “The Conjuring” as well as the Bryan Bertino-scripted indie “Plastic Jesus,” which co-stars Paul Schneider and Chandler Canterbury.
Foy is repped by Coast to Coast Talent Group, manager Christopher Rockwell and attorney Derek Kroeger.
