‘Twilight’ hour for Twi-hards

The cast descends on Leicester Square for U.K preem

Officials were battening down the Leicester Square hatches on Nov. 14, for the final vampire vendetta of Summit’s “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn 2.”

Taking hold of a trio of cinemas for the U.K. preem, the undead, werewolves and helmer Bill Condon all cast shadows over a vast red carpet, engulfed by swarms of screaming Twihards.

Kristen Stewart was jubilant over her pic triumph, beating Taylor Lautner in a battle of brawn onscreen, joking, “I really needed that, right? All that pent-up angst. Taylor’s a real, real jerk!”

On introducing the pic, Robert Pattinson buffered guests’ expectations. “I think you might quite like the movie we’ve made, but uh, you might not. That’s fine, that’s OK. You got a free ticket anyway,” he noted.

It seems the end of Pattinson’s “Twilight” paychecks has been weighing heavy on his mind, as he divulged a tale of the used car he’d tried to sneak off set: “I tried to steal the Volvo, but they wouldn’t let me have it. I’m still waiting for it!” he joked.

There was zero time for a London party, though, as talent jetted straight off to Spain to continue their preem run. Presumably by plane, having lost their supernatural powers, and wheels, post wrap.
