TORONTO — Stars of the Canuck cult comedy TV series “The Trailer Park Boys” and its two feature spin-offs are reuniting for feature comedy “Race Dicks,” it was announced Wednesday.

“Trailer” trio Robb Wells, John Paul Tremblay and Mike Smith co-wrote “Dicks,” and will co-star as friends competing in a world-famous Newfoundland car race and fundraising for a TV channel called SwearNet.

“Dicks” is produced by Gary Howsam and Bill Marks, who will also direct the Rollercoaster Entertainment and Vortex Words Plus Pictures production.

Principal photography starts this year in Toronto, Halifax and Newfoundland, with 2013 the finish-line target for release. A two-month online sponsorship campaign for “Dicks” was launched last month.

Howsam and Marks have producer credits on Damian Lee-helmed “The Truth,” starring Andy Garcia and Forest Whitaker, which is in post. The pair were also producers on George Hickenlooper’s “Casino Jack,” starring Kevin Spacey.

Wells, Tremblay and Smith were stars, co-writers and exec producers on “The Drunk and on Drugs Happy Fun Time Hour,” a cameo-packed comedy six-parter that aired on Shaw Media’s Action channel last summer. The trio recently expanded its “Drunk, High and Unemployed” live theater tour, which ran in 2010 and 2011, to include Aussie and Kiwi dates this year.
