Tony Hale has joined the cast of Paul Feig’s untitled cop buddy comedy feature, starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy.

Hale will play a man who McCarthy’s character arrests for soliciting a prostitute. Hale met Feig when he directed episodes of “Arrested Development,” and they have also worked together on Feig’s “Unaccompanied Minors.”

The untitled feature is written by Kate Dippold (“Parks and Recreation”) and exec produced by Feig. Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping and Dylan Clark are producing the film for Fox.

Hale is appearing on HBO’s “Veep” and has been set to reprise his role of Buster Bluth in the new installment of “Arrested Development” for Netflix.

Hale is represented by ICM Partners and manager Steven Levy of Framework Entertainment.
