Veteran composer Thomas Newman has been tapped to score the new James Bond film, “Skyfall.”
Producers Michael. G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli made the announcement Tuesday.
“I’m incredibly excited to be working with Sam again,” Newman said in a statement. “It’s a real thrill to be able to collaborate on something as special as a Bond movie.”
Newman has scored four of director Sam Mendes films, including “American Beauty,” “Road to Perdition,” “Jarhead” and “Revolutionary Road.”
Newman takes over musical duties from James Bond vet David Arnold, who is composing the music for the Olympics’ opening and closing ceremonies.
“Skyfall” opens nationwide Nov. 9, 2012.
