‘This Is 40’ preems at the Chinese

Apatow, pic's stars onhand to intro film

This Is 40” is described as the “sort-of sequel” to “Knocked Up.” Which also describes all the usual suspects who showed up to support Judd Apatow at Wednesday preem at the Chinese.

Apatow was joined by the pics stars Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann as well as Seth Rogen and Lena Dunham, who helped Apatow introduce the film.

For the afterparty, the Roosevelt Hotel was decked out to look like the 40th birthday party for Rudd’s character in the movie.

According Apatow, “This Is 40” turned into one of his easier writing projects. “I took notes for the script for about a year and a half,” he said. “So when it came to writing the actual script, it was pretty easy getting back to it.”

Though the film takes jabs at plenty of pop-culture icons, Apatow revealed that one particular person was given a heads-up early on.

” J.J. Abrams read the script and saw a screening of the film early on,” Apatow said. “We got his blessing on certain jokes before moving forward.”
