Willow Shields (“The Hunger Games”), Karl Urban and Leehom Wang have come on board family adventure “The Wonder 3-D” with Ron Underwood directing.
Robert Sidaway, Iain Brown, Steve Sachs and Chun-Yi Yuehare producing. James M. Vernon of Media Funds Management and Hyde Park topper Ashok Amitraj will executive produce.
Hyde Park International is introducing the movie to global distributors at the American Film Market. Filming will commence in March in New Zealand and China.
The film will be shot in 3D with special effects done by Pixomondo, which won an Oscar for its special effects in “Hugo” and an Emmy for HBO’s “Game of Thrones.”
The film follows a 14-year-old (Shields) who, along with two of her classmates, finds the end of a rainbow. As they step inside the rainbow, it takes them away to China where local authorities and a mysterious organization are soon after them.
Urban will portray a consul who delivers unexpected help.
