The Exchange will rep international rights for Sundance entry “Sound of My Voice,” starring Brit Marling.
Directed by Zal Batmanglij, the sci-fi tinged thriller bowed through Fox Searchlight in the U.S. on April 27 and will expand in the coming weeks. Exchange founder Brian O’Shea will screen the pic at the Cannes market.
“The film is a thought-provoking independent thriller and the dynamic writing team, director, Zal Batmanglij and lead actress, Brit Marling, have created a spellbinding atmosphere that will surely capture an international audience,” said O’Shea.
“Sound of My Voice” is the atmospheric story of a young Los Angeles couple who delve into the cult of a charismatic young leader.
Deal was negotiated on behalf of the filmmakers by producer Shelley Surpin and UTA’s David Flynn and on behalf of the Exchange by Laura Ivey.
