Media giant News Corp. said Monday that chief spokeswoman Teri Everett is leaving her Gotham post as senior VP of corporate affairs and communications as of Feb. 10.
Julie Henderson, Everett’s West Coast counterpart, has been promoted to senior VP of corporate affairs and chief communications officer, expanding her role to include oversight of the conglom’s global communications, corporate affairs and social responsibility efforts. Henderson will remain in Los Angeles.
Everett has been at News Corp. for more than a decade and most recently helped shepherd the company’s PR efforts through a phone hacking scandal in the U.K. that erupted last July and transfixed media around the world. It is still ongoing but the impact Stateside at least appears to have dialed down.
“While it may be a tired cliche, I am ready for something new,” Everett said.
She joined the conglom in 2000 in the Los Angeles office and moved to New York in 2007. She became chief spokeswoman in 2009.
