Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has acquired distribution rights in multiple international territories for Derek Lee and Clif Prowse’s buzzed-about found footage film “Ends of the Earth.”

Deal includes German-speaking Europe, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America and South Africa.

Automatik Entertainment — a joint venture between IM Global and Alliance Films — holds worldwide rights to the pic.

“Earth” tells the story of two best friends on a whirlwind trip around the world. Their journey turns surreal when they encounter an impossible phenomenon that will change one of them forever. Lee and Prowse co-wrote the pic. Chris Ferguson and Zach Lipovsky produced, with IM Global’s Stuart Ford, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Charles Layton exec producing.

CBS Films is distributing Stateside; Alliance Films will handle duties in Canada, Spain and the U.K.

The deal was brokered on behalf of SPWA by Michael Helfand and Joe Matukewicz, along with IM Global’s Jonathan Deckter.
