Screen Gems is ordering up a sequel to its box office hit “Think Like a Man,” which has grossed over $91 million to date at the domestic box office. Film was based on Steve Harvey’s bestselling book “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man.”
Sequel will be written by Keith Merryman and David A. Newman who penned the screenplay for the first film, which is still playing in a handful of theaters.
Will Packer will produce via his Rainforest Films banner. Harvey will exec produce the project with Rushion McDonald and Rob Hardy.
“Think Like a Man” opened April 20 and grossed $33.6 million its opening frame, which was enough to win the weekend.
In addition to writing “Think Like a Man,” Merryman and Newman wrote “Friends With Benefits,” which starred Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis. Scribes are repped by APA, Circle of Confusion and Stone, Meyer, Genow & Binder.
