In a pair of pre-Cannes moves, Red Sea Media has acquired international sales rights to the Singaporean sexual thriller “Hotel De Sade” as well as the horror comedy “Julia X 3D.”

“Hotel” is directed by Oman Dhas, written by Goh Ming Siu, and stars Fish Chaar, Debra Teng, William Lawandi and Joanne Marie Sim. The film is produced by Jeffrey Ong, Knot Hamidee and Hisham A. Karim and centers on a psychopath pimp taking revenge on a man by luring him into a depraved brothel.

Project is the first in a multi picture deal with Pearry Teo under which Dead Sea Media (Red Sea’s genre label) and Pearry team up to produce and finance titles which are under the horror, creature and disaster genres films.

“Julia X 3D” is directed by PJ Pettiette, with a script by Matt Cunningham and Pettiette. The film stars Valeria Azlynn, Kevin Sorbo, Alicia Leigh Willis, Joel Moore, Ving Rhames. Producers are Greg Hall, PJ Pettiette, Claudie Viguerie.

Film focuses on the title character who’s abducted by a man called “The Stranger” and branded with an X.
