Dominic Purcell has joined the cast of the indie “Motel,” which stars John Cusack and Robert De Niro.
“Django Unchained” thesp James Russo wrote the script, which helmer David Grovic then rewrote with Paul Conway. Story follows about a man (Cusack) who must wait for his boss at a seedy motel after killing several men and retrieving a mystery bag.
Purcell plays a mischievous sheriff who comes to the motel and doesn’t leave until he gets what he wants. Peter Graves and Warren Ostergard are producing. The UTA- and Untitled Entertainment-repped Purcell was most recently in “Killer Elite” with De Niro and Jason Statham.

Shonali Bose’s much-laureled 2014 “Margarita with a Straw” was a film whose presentation of a cerebral palsy-afflicted heroine sidestepped all the usual hand-wringing inspirational clichés of disability portrayal, making her story all the more enlightening and affecting. It is particularly disappointing, then, that the director’s followup should approach another tale of genetic infirmity with all [...]
