‘Predestination’ eyes early 2013 shoot

Ethan Hawke to star in sci-fi thriller

Production will begin early next year on time travelling sci-fi action thriller “Predestination,” starring Ethan Hawke.

Film is written and will be directed by the Spierig Brothers, Michael and Peter.

Brisbane-based Patrick McDonald of Wolfhound Pictures and Tim McGahan of Blacklab Entertainment, who brought the project to Arclight Films, are producing. Arclight Films has taken on international sales duties.

Story centers on a secret government time traveling agency designed to prevent future killers and terrorists from committing their crimes. Pic chronicles the life of a Temporal Agent sent on an intricate series of time-travel journeys designed to ensure the continuation of his law enforcement career for all eternity.

Script is based on the Robert A. Heinlein short story ”All You Zombies.”

The Spierig Brothers’ 2010 film “Daybreakers” starred Hawke, Willem Dafoe and Sam Neill.

“Predestination” will shoot in Australia. Vince Gerardis (“Game of Thrones”) exec produces.
