‘Power Rangers’ star takes a ‘Chance’

Alex Heartman will play arch nemesis in martial arts pic

Alex Heartman, star of Nickelodeon’s “Power Rangers Samurai,” has booked a leading role in indie feature “Take A Chance,” which starts production next month in Alabama.

Michael Stiles and James F Robinson will direct from Shihan Oyama’s script, which follows a Japanese college student whose father sends him to a karate master in the United States to study martial arts. Scott Perkins and Shihan Oyama are financing the project.

Heartman, repped by Brown Leader Management Group, will portray the arch nemesis black belt. Heartman has an extensive background in martial arts including karate, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and judo, and various weapon forms.
