Pierce Brosnan has come onboard to star opposite Owen Wilson in Crime Scene Pictures’ thriller “The Coup,” with lensing set to start in October.
John Erick Dowdle (“Devil”) will direct from a script he co-wrote with his brother, Drew Dowdle. Story centers on an American family who move to Southeast Asia and find themselves entangled in a violent coup in which merciless rebels attack the city.
Crime Scene Pictures’ Adam Ripp and Rob Paris are financing and have teamed with Steve Alexander and Drew Dowdle to produce. Sierra/Affinity will be handling international sales beginning at Cannes.
Crime Scene Pictures announced recently that it’s producing a remake of “Suspiria” with David Gordon Green attached to direct. The banner’s in pre-production on “Everly,” a thriller starring Kate Hudson with Joe Lynch directing.
Brosnan is repped by CAA and attorney Stuart Brookman.
