Phase 4 nabs ‘Baytown Outlaws’

Theatrical release set for early next year

Phase 4 Films has snapped up all North American rights to director Barry Battles’ action comedy “The Baytown Outlaws,” starring Eva Longoria, Billy Bob Thornton, Paul Wesley, Andre Braugher and Thomas Brodie-Sangst.

Phase 4 plans to release the pic theatrically early next year.

Film, directed by Barry Battles, was formerly titled “The Baytown Disco.” Screenplay by Battles and Griffin Hood made the 2009 Black List.

LLeju Prods.’ William O. Perkins financed and produced the film alongside Robert Teitel from State Street Pictures. Hood, Ryan Jones, Thomas J. Busch and Mary Vernieu exec produce.

“Baytown” centers on a trio of ruthless Alabama brothers hired to return a kidnapped wheelchair-bound teen to his grandmother.

Deal was negotiated by Phase 4’s Larry Greenberg and Katharyn Howe with WME Global on behalf of the filmmakers. Highland Film Group is handling international sales.
