“The Gangster Princess of Beverly Hills” is claiming turf on Melrose.
Paramount is in talks to acquire rights to the Rolling Stone article by Sabrina Rubin Erdely chronicling the rise and fall of convicted drug trafficker Lisette Lee. An outlandish personality known for her tiny dogs and explosive temper, Lee was caught trying to fly more than 500 pounds of marijuana into Ohio.
Paradigm reps Erdely and has been fielding offers for the story since its publication last month. The journalist’s work has appeared in publications including Self and the New Yorker.
Several Rolling Stone articles have sparked interest in Hollywood — one recent example is Guy Lawson’s “Arms and the Dudes,” which Todd Phillips’ Green Hat Films optioned last year.
