New Regency is in talks to finance an untitled drama based on the tome “Flim-Flam Man: The True Story of My Father’s Counterfeit Life” that Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu will direct.
The book, written by Jennifer Vogel, is the author’s true tale of her father’s life in a criminal underworld.
Inarritu is set to direct the project while “Cold Mountain” producer Bill Horberg will produce.
Twentieth Century Fox-based New Regency is no stranger to Inarritu’s work: Shingle is also developing the helmer’s adventure drama “The Revenant.”
“Flim-Flam” project would go first, should the project get the greenlight.
Jez Butterworth penned the script, formerly titled “Flag Day.”
