New Line has cast Nathan Kress in found-footage tornado project “Category Six” alongside Arlen Escarpeta and Alycia Debnam-Carey.

Steven Quale — a longtime associate of James Cameron — signed on earlier this year to direct “Category Six” in his second gig for New Line following “Final Destination 5,” in which Escarpeta starred.

Kress, a regular on “iCarly,” will portray the role of a brother in search of his missing sibling.

Studio began developing the project last fall when it bought John Swetnam’s script and set it up with Todd Garner at his Broken Road banner. Story, presented through video cameras and cellphones, centers on high schoolers who try to survive a Category 6 tornado — the worst in U.S. history.

Quale was second-unit director and visual effects supervisor on “Avatar” and second-unit director on “Titanic.”

Kress is repped by APA and Karen Semler at Semler Entertainment. His attorney is Bruce Gellman.
