Monopoly gets ‘Godfather’ edition

Special version of board game to honor film's 40th anni

Board game Monopoly is getting a mobster remodeling as Hasbro has released Monopoly: The Godfather Edition in honor of the film’s 40th anniversary.

Produced by Usaopoloy, under license from Hasbro and Paramount Licensing, the game will feature properties from the movie that can be bought and sold that include Woltz Intl. Pictures, Moe Green’s Casino and Hyman Roth’s home.

The game also features board tokens like the horse’s head and a cannoli that each player can use as well as “Don cards,” which can be used to allow each player to align with a particular family and employ a potentially lethal strike.

Based on the Mario Puzo novel, “The Godfather” won the 1972 Oscar for best picture and was followed by two more films.
