Gotham’s Museum of the Moving Image will honor Hugh Jackman for its 27th annual salute, part of a fundraising gala set for December.
Jackman draws the honor for a body of work that couples bigscreen credits (“Wolverine,” the upcoming “Les Miserables”) with stage work (“The Boy From Oz,” “Hugh Jackman: Back on Broadway”) and kudocast hosting stints for the Tonys and Oscars.
Jackman joins a roster of MMI honorees that includes Clint Eastwood, Julia Roberts and Steven Spielberg.
Coin raised by the gala will go to support the various programs, exhibitions and education initiatives of the Queens-based museum dedicated to film, TV and digital media.
The MMI salute to Jackman, exec produced by Scott Mauro of his eponymous production company, is set for Dec. 11 at Cipriani Wall Street in downtown Manhattan.
