Details of role for 'Casino Royale' thesp still unclear

Though “The Avengers” continues to dominate the global box office, Marvel is not slowing down on preparations for its future endeavors, as Mads Mikkelsen is in talks to star as one of the villains in Disney and Marvel’s “Thor 2.”

It is unknown at this time exactly what part he will play, but Tom Hiddleston will still have a big part as antagonist Loki. Marvel declined to comment on the casting.

Most of the cast from the original, including star Chris Hemsworth, are returning, with Alan Taylor (“Game of Thrones”) helming. Don Payne, who co-wrote “Thor,” penned the original draft with Robert Rodat doing the most recent polish.

Marvel has skedded “Thor 2” for Nov. 15, 2013, with production expected to start later this summer.

Best known for his role as the villain in “Casino Royale,” Mikkelsen’s pic “The Hunt” recently bowed at Cannes. He’s currently shooting “The Neccessary Death of Charlie Countryman” starring Shia LaBeouf.
