Michael Fassbender to narrate racing doc

Film centered on Formula 1 racing

Michael Fassbender has signed on to narrate documentary film “1,” centered on the world of Formula 1 motor racing, from Exclusive Media’s Spitfire Pictures.

An early version of the movie will debut Thursday in Austin as part of a presentation for the U.S. Grand Prix weekend, but without Fassbender’s narration.

The deal for Fassbender, a longtime Formula 1 fan, was announced by Exclusive Media co-chairman Nigel Sinclair and fellow producer Michael Shevloff together with director Paul Crowder.

Michael Fassbender is a brilliant and fearless actor who will bring all the passion and excitement of our action documentary to life,” Crowder said. “There is truly no better voice to tell this story.”

“1” is written by Mark Monroe, Crowder’s long-time creative partner with credits on “The Cove” and “The Tillman Story.”

Spitfire will produce with Flat-Out Films and Diamond Docs. Interviewees include Formula 1 drivers Jackie Stewart, Mario Andretti, Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher, Jenson Button, Sebastian Vettel, Emerson Fittipaldi, Nigel Mansell and Damon Hill.
