Marquette, Willis to star in ‘Odd Way’

Sandia Media's Touche to produce pic

Chris Marquette and Rumer Willis will star in indie drama “The Odd Way Home,” from Slant Prods. and Sandia Media, with lensing set to start later this month in southern New Mexico.

Sandia Media’s Peter Touche (“Scoop”) will produce alongside Patrick Nelson, with Victor Kearney exec producing. Rajeev Nirmalakhandan will direct from a screenplay he wrote with Jason Ronstadt.

Story follows a man with autism who meets a young woman escaping her life in Los Angeles and their subsequent journey through the Southwest. Cast also includes Brendan Sexton III, Veronica Cartwright and Bruce Altman.

Touche formerly worked for Ingenious Media. Marquette’s credits include “Alpha Dog” and “The Girl Next Door”; Willis starred in “The House Bunny” and “Hostage.”

Marquette is repped by UTA, the Collective and Mitch Smelkinson of Stone Meyer Genow Smelkinson & Binder. Willis is repped by CAA, Untitled Entertainment and Bianca Levin of Gang Tyre Ramer & Brown.
