MacGillivray Freeman launches media arm

MacG Media agency targets corporate, nonprofit clients with cross-platform options

MacGillivray Freeman Films has established a new full-service media agency. The division, named MacG Media, will offer services for all platforms to corporate and non-profit clients.

The addition, announced Monday, reps a further expansion into new platforms for the company, which is best known for producing and distributing films for Imax theaters. The agency’s content-creation services will include theatrical films, TV, mobile and more.

“With more than 40 years of experience creating compelling stories of the highest quality for Imax audiences of all ages, we are perfectly positioned to expand our services across these different platforms,” said Shaun MacGillivray, the company’s managing director.

New division will produce original material and offer clients access to the company’s Imax library. The agency has established an in-house digital production unit to execute media campaigns.

Last October, MacGillivray Freeman Films launched the multiplatform One World One Ocean, a 10-year campaign aimed at raising awareness and mobilizing audiences to protect the ocean. Effort includes this year’s “To the Arctic” film, two additional Imax pics, a 3D theatrical doc, a TV series and digital video.
