LONDON — Two Indian films are set to shoot in London next year, it was announced Wednesday by London mayor Boris Johnson as he met with Indian film and television producers in Mumbai.

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala will bring both his helming debut “Kick,” starring Salman Khan, and the third in the “Housefull” comedy franchise, starring Akshay Kumar, to Blighty’s capital. “Housefull 3” will be entirely lensed in London. Both films will also see post-production, with a combined budget of £35 million ($56.1 million), take place in London’s Soho.

“I’m thrilled that Sajid Nadiadwala has chosen London as the backdrop for not one, but two of his brand new blockbusters,” said Johnson. “As our recent World Cities Culture Report shows, London and Mumbai are major players on the international stage for creativity and the arts. Filmmaking is massively important to both our cities and we need to build on the momentum that already exists.”
