“Haywire” star Gina Carano relished putting the hurt on co-stars Ewan McGregor, Michael Fassbender and Channing Tatum in the Relativity Media pic. But when it comes to a dream bout, the former top-ranked mixed martial artist would need to travel back in time.
“I’d take on Hitler,” she said at the film’s Gotham preem on Jan. 18 at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema. “And I’d use my legs to finish him because that’s the strongest part of my body.” Though the pulse-racing actioner featured plenty of ass- whooping, there was no full-frontal nudity to be found — a glaring omission given Fassbender and McGregor’s involvement. “I missed an opportunity, didn’t I?” helmer Steven Soderbergh joked of his oft-naked stars.
Meanwhile, an enforcer was needed at the “Haywire” afterparty, held at Lower East Side hotspot Sons of Essex, when a seemingly drunk reveler caused a scene, nearly crashing into a photo-op. But Carano deferred to the beefy bouncers, who escorted the woman out of the Cinema Society shindig.
