Kim Basinger joins ‘Grudge Match’

Thesp joins De Niro, Stallone in Warner Bros. pic

Oscar-winner Kim Basinger has closed a deal to join Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone in Warner Bros.’ movie “Grudge Match.”

Peter Segal (“Get Smart”) is directing from a script by Tim Kelleher that was most recently rewritten by “Entourage” creator Doug Ellin. Billy Gerber is producing with Michael Ewing and Mark Steven Johnson.

De Niro and Stallone, who are no stranger to boxing pics between “Raging Bull” and the “Rocky” franchise, play retired fighters who decide to step into the ring one last time to settle an old score.

Basinger will play the woman caught in the middle, while Kevin Hart will co-star as the fight promoter.

Basinger, who was last seen alongside Zac Efron in “Charlie St. Cloud,” is currently filming Paul Haggis’ “Third Person.” The Oscar-winning “L.A. Confidential” star will next be seen opposite Richard Jenkins in the indie drama “One Square Mile.” She’s repped by Paradigm, manager Oren Segal of MPE and attorney John LaViolette.
